I hadn't watched Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon until last week. And it's good that I saw it now instead of years ago. Because...so many familiar faces! Most pleasant surprise was seeing Chang Chen from A Brighter Summer Day, all grown up here. #filmsky

Also, the sight of little boys in color coordinated shorts playing football/cricket in the rain 😍.
So while there's a lot to rue about the monsoon, there's also these little joys I want to cherish and not take for granted.

My neighborhood has very few trees these days. So, as I walked on an errand today it was nice to see so much greenery all around - lush overhanging shrubs, wild tendrils growing between cracks of an old building, and ferns everywhere. Sure streets look filthy with slush but hey there's greenery 😁

Monsoon in Mumbai/urban areas of Maharashtra is a strange thing. On the one hand, there's waterlogging, wading thru filthy water, delayed transports, jams,sicknesses, & more. And otoh, even the most concreted areas see bits of greenery during monsoons. Wild growing ferns & weeds. Oil spill rainbows.

Time management is nothing but the art of time stealing - you're stealing time that was to be given to one thing to another thing. Biggest dilemma for me rn is deciding which thing's time to steal from. Everything is super important. But time is in scarcity.

The paradox of the human psyche is puzzling. I have an acquaintance who is deeply into AI & futuristic science but the other day she spoke about how she's a strong believer in black magic (kaala jadu) & is paranoid that someone has put a spell on her.
