Booker opposing an effort to block Trump’s arms sales to Israel after delivering impassioned remarks on Democrats being β€œcomplicit” with Trump.

In response to today’s Senate votes on S.J.Res.34 and S.J.Res.41 to block arms sales to the Israeli government, Win Without War Government Relations Director Eric Eikenberry released the following statement:
β€œTonight’s vote sent a powerful message: Momentum is building to stop the atrocities in Gaza and end U.S. complicity in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s war. 27 senators stood up to Trump, Netanyahu, and business-as-usual war politics. This is the kind of leadership necessary to build the coalitions and political pressure that can save lives in Gaza, bring the hostages home, and secure a lasting ceasefire to end this horrific war.
β€œPeople in Gaza have endured a man-made catastrophe at the hands of the Israeli government; in recent weeks the number of children dying from starvation has increased, and over 1,000 Palestinians have been shot while desperately seeking aid. The latest analysis indicates that a "worst-case" famine scenario is unfolding across the Strip. Multiple reports, including from journalists, from the United Nations, and from a former Gaza Humanitarian Foundation contractor, confirm that militarized aid sites set up with U.S. support are β€˜designed as death traps.’
β€œToday’s vote demonstrates that a growing coalition is ready to end this war and prevent further mass killing, but there is still so much to be done. The path forward is clear: end U.S. complicity and secure a lasting ceasefire that protects Palestinians and brings the hostages home.”

Zohran Mamdani scores 17-point lead with Jewish voters in NYC mayoral race Mamdani's support among Jewish voters comes after accusations from opponents and some community leaders that his criticism of Israel represents antisemitism.

it’s almost like all the attacks calling Mamdani antisemitic were vapid bad faith bullshit created by politicians with no policy plan other than smashing the β€œscary muslim” button

The abuse of Magnitsky sanctions to protect authoritarians and oligarchs is a very bad step.

Netanyahu proposes to annex parts of Gaza in attempt to appease far-right minister

🚨 "The process will continue gradually until [all of Gaza] is annexed. According to Netanyahu, the plan has approval from Trump"

This coming as European+Arab powers gather in NY for a two-state solution conference is a major test of whether they retain any influence.

If these idiots said, "I'm going to sanction Florida by buying one billion oranges... from Brazil," everyone would rightly mock them. But for some reason, when it's fossil fuels, the fact that all positive demand signals help all commodity producers flies out the window.

Not buying the gas from Russia is immaterial -- if you're guaranteeing LNG demand as a major buyer in the global LNG market, you're helping Russian LNG producers.

on the one hand we should want people to change their mind so we can stop what's happening now. On the other hand there need to be costs for the ghoulish behavior that got us here, as these people absolutely will do this again given half a chance

what this is, above all else, is the biggest green light we’ve ever seen for Dem primary challenges

the Dem base is deeply, deeply angry at the party for not doing more to oppose Trump and the door is wide open for anyone who is serious about doing more on that front

What was the "pressure campaign" Biden instituted to prevent these events (and the mass killing of civilians the IDF was doing before, during, and after)? It was shipping huge amounts of arms to the perpetrators and labeling those calling for a ceasefire Hamas supporters.

The Rafah invasion, permanent forced displacement through "buffer zones," implementation of the General's Plan in northern Gaza -- all of these happened on Biden's watch, pre-election.

β€œThe government is racing ahead for Gaza to be wiped out,” Eliyahu told Haredi radio station Kol Barama. β€œThank God, we are wiping out this evil.

Who is Arrested by ICE under Trump 2.0? A 🧡

New from me & @elizabethacox.bsky.social!

Piece: immresearch.org/publications...

1. ICE arrests spike in Jan & May 2025; when arrests increase, percent of those arrested who are convicted of a crime falls

Majority arrested have no criminal conviction

Goyishe sex pest running for mayor of New York City goes to the Hamptons to tell the majority of Jewish voters in New York that they're not actually Jewish. A perfect microcosm of contemporary American Jewish politics.

Military-trained Americans’ trust in the president’s nuclear launch authority dropped during Iran Crisis. Here’s why it matters. A recent study discovered something unexpected: The US military's confidence in the president having sole authority to launch a nuclear weapon went down when Trump authorized missile strikes on Iran. ...

This is pretty interesting:

"Across every category, the percentage of military-trained respondents arguing in favor of specific limitations on nuclear launch authority has risen since last year" thebulletin.org/2025/07/mili...

Will Zohran Mamdani protect all New Yorkers? He owes the Jewish community an answer With antisemitic incidents in New York at all-time highs, mayoral candidates including Mamdani face scrutiny over their plans to ensure Jewish safety in the city.

ADL and Jonathan Greenblatt do not represent American Jews. They do not care about our safety and are not working for our interests.

No one who cares about American Jews should listen to the ADL or Greenblatt. They're worse than useless.
