It only took me three years but I finally finished Bram Stoker's Dracula. I started it the summer after I graduated from college and now it's done!! And I really enjoyed it!

12.09.2025 19:00 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0An oil portrait painting of a wife and husband stand side by side. The wife is wearing large circular glasses, a blue floral dress, a simple diamond necklace, and small silver hoop earrings. She smiles delicately as her brown hair cascades over her shoulder. Her husband is taller, with short white hair and a long white beard. He's wearing a suit with a pin on the lapel and a dotted purple tie against a lavender shirt.

27.07.2025 15:02 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A gouache painting in a sketchbook. In the center of the spread, a tree silhouette can be seen. In the foreground, a lamp post and a speed limit sign. In the background, a bridge.
A very rough first pass of the same painting.
A scene from my neighborhood, gouache in sketchbook. Complete and first pass. :)
27.07.2025 14:57 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A gouache painting, with loose brush strokes. The subject is a black and white cow-patterned dog with cropped ears. He is looking to the left, wearing a blue color with a leash attached.
A gouache painting of a ragdoll cat sitting up high on a cat tower, looking down. The cat is white so her fur reflects the colors of the light. She has hues of peach, orange, and green-grey to define her fluffs. She looks down like she owns the place (and she does)
This week's sketchbook pages! Gouache. Both of these were a challenge but I'm happy with the outcome.
17.07.2025 19:32 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0An ink cartoon illustration of axolotls at a disco. A male presenting axolotl is wearing a classic disco suit dancing next to a female presenting axolotl in a dark dress. One axolotl says "Yeah, baby yeah!" They are in a disco club, surrounded by silhouettes of other dancing axolotl while a disco ball shines overhead.
A sketchbook spread of facial expressions, cartoon sketches of axolotls dancing and in various disco outfits. Sketches of compositions.

16.05.2025 22:20 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0A black and white comic titled "Coworker Lore" Panel 1: A girl is working at her computer when her coworker says "Ha! Oh yeah!" from her own desk Panel 2: close up of the coworker exclaiming "I just remembered my ex-husband tried to kill me!!" The main girl character looks aghast in the background. Panel 3: the main girl character returns to her computer with a looming dread expression as her coworker cheerfully states "I guess I've blocked it out!"

14.05.2025 18:00 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A six-panel, black and white comic titled Wet Bug 5/12. Panel 1: It's raining lightly. A girl stands next to her car wearing a lanyard and baseball cap. She's rummaging through her bag looking for her car keys as she says "Oh God, I'm so late! Where are my keys?!" On the roof of the car, very tiny, is a small bug saying "Oh shit!" Panel 2: A close up of the bug - it's upside down on the car, stuck to it with wet wings. Its legs are wiggling around in the air - it's clearly struggling. Off the panel, the girl says "Ah! Found them!" Panel 3: The bug continues to struggle. The girl, off panel, says "Oh! Poor guy!" Panel 4: another close up, the girl's finger lowers down to the bug, who appears to be trying to resist, panicking and cursing. The girl says "I got you, little one!" Panel 5: The girl extends her finger to a droopy willow tree. It continues to rain. She says "There you go!" Panel 6: a close up of the bug standing right side up on a leaf. He plainly says "what the fuck" in disbelief

Panel Three: back to the original woman, she's now picking at dust on her desk. She says "no... Just bored." The other woman replies "Sprite." Panel Four: the original woman is seen getting up from her desk chair, walking off panel, saying "Yeah I just need a little fizzle in my life"

06.05.2025 02:22 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A photo of a large pastel painting featuring a snow night scene in a suburban neighborhood. Two houses are in the scene with a hauntingly tall silhouetted tree line in the background. The houses are characterized by many cars in the driveway. There is a warm blanket of snow covering the landscape, a driveway basketball hoop, several mailboxes and shrubs that strike the foreground against the midground of the painting. The colors of the painting are warm, peachy whites contrasted by deep red and purple earth tones that make up the shadows of the scene.
Sun, Jan 5th. Pastel on gessoed Bristol paper. 19"x 24"
This was a fun experiment. Really getting the handle of pastels and enjoying them. I purchased some proper pastel paper the other day and am looking forward to the next painting!!
