In dozens of communities nationwide, people are boycotting and protesting Chevron because of their link to Israel's genocide in Gaza. Boycotting is simple: If you buy gas, don’t get it at Chevron.

Our new logo was created at Dogbane Movement Hub’s new zine and screenprinting studio, which launched this past year. At the studio, local farmers create art and cultural works that bring the land they are stewarding and the plants they tend to the forefront of our imaginations.

🌺 Hibiscus grows throughout the Global South. It’s an ingredient in agua de jamaica, sorrel, and more – teaching us that our struggles around the world are interconnected, and that healing is inseparable from gathering as a community and creating interdependence with the land that sustains us. 🌺

🌱 Starting today, we have a new logo! This is a scan of a hibiscus blossom grown at Dogbane Movement Hub - where hundreds of young leaders have rolled up our sleeves to build a new future, while tending plants that connect us to generations of struggle that came before.

During three days of learning together, we reconnected with our ecology and watersheds, grieved the threats to our survival we are facing as the ecological crisis worsens, and made plans for building a stronger movement for climate survival in Richmond and beyond. ‼️

Together, we started making plans for water survival infrastructure and skill-building offerings at Richmond’s mutual aid hubs. We also collectively renovated and installed a solar-powered 1500 gallon rainwater catchment system at Dogbane Movement Hub to build hands-on experience. ❤️‍🔥

Alongside partner organizations including Mutual Aid Disaster Relief and Living Energy Lights, we reflected on the precarious state of water systems highlighted by the Richmond water crisis in January which left most of the city’s 230,000+ residents without drinkable tap water for 6 days. 💧
