Barley hat Knit Picks City Tweed DK in Toad.

🧶 Finished Barley hat for Lena. Not happy with it as did not seen to matter what needles used difficult to maintain tension. Used KnitPicks City Tweed DK. NEEDLES: used circular and dpn, tried bamboo dpn and KnitPicks Options circular needle set. Glad is done!

I chose shadow wrap. Since I am doing cuff, heel, toe in solid color blue if I had decided to add texture it would show up.

🧦 🧶 Ready to do heel. I usually do an eye of partridge heel with the knit stitches knit through the back loop for added texture. But thinking about doing a shadow wrap heel instead. Out of 30 types of heels I prefer these 2 as I have narrow heels.

🧦🧶 Vanilla vs. cables, texture, lace, etc. I spend 2-3 days testing stitch pattern ideas. End up choosing vanilla as seems to look aesthetically better than a cable, texture seems to adds no zing! nor enhance the yarn.
