04.02.2026 22:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Anyway, I had my cameras running.
03.02.2026 22:35 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Also this is why we chose the bear. Every single time.
03.02.2026 21:26 โ ๐ 26 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I do not look forward to our next encounter. I'm no match for an Angry Man In A Fancy Car who clearly feels threatened by me because he [checks notes] tried to run me over.
03.02.2026 21:17 โ ๐ 18 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0Dude knowingly and intentionally nearly sideswipes me and then assumes I'm coming after him for it.
And I'm literally just a girl on a #bike, riding home after a day of work.
Like it's my fault he chose a mode of transportation that isn't any faster than a #bicycle.
...and again as he turns into a posh driveway, at which point he gets out and yells, "stop following me you ****ing c***!"
I'm just pedalling my normal speed, on my normal route home.
And this man is convinced I am chasing his car. On my bicycle.
A heretofore all new aggressive driver experience as I was biking home today:
Bruh punish passes me within inches. I catch up to him at the next light, as one does. He floors it. I catch up at the next light again. I end up behind him as we both wait to make a left into a neighborhood...
To be clear we are huge fans of remote school here. It's just PE that's a bit of a drag.
03.02.2026 18:02 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Day 4 of remote school. The kid just waddled by on all fours, in sort of a roving downdog position, grumbling, "I thought today was supposed to be health, not PE."
03.02.2026 16:58 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0๐๐ชดCities becoming less sustainable with more home/hybrid working?
WTP for PT access has fallen, especially in smaller cities & costlier housing markets.

31.01.2026 12:14 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 1Literally everything. We cook everything in the air fryer. Our regular oven is just a giant box taking up what could be cabinet space now.
That said, we don't actually use it for air frying. It's just a small oven that heats up really fast to me.
I had a similarly unreliable old, old, old school bmw that may or may not have been legally imported. The owners manual was in German, so I got to learn how to drive, how to keep a car running, and how to read about how to keep a car running in German.
I loved that death trap.
I know we don't have equipment to plow sidewalks and curb ramps, but getting #NCDOT to stop using them as a literal dumping ground for the snow cleared for cars would be helpful. Those of us who walk or use the bus to get to work have no option but to walk in the road to get around these piles.
30.01.2026 20:45 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I see your mogul and raise you an ice floe. Wanna take bets on whose melts first?

Screengrab from a bike handlebar cam showing a 5-lane divided arterial, completely cleared of snow and ice, and a sidewalk curb ramp completely blocked by ice. Beyond the blockage is a completely iced-over sidewalk, which serves a bus stop on a key transit route into town.
It never ceases to amaze me how less than half an inch of sleet can become an ice floe over a foot deep on any given curb ramp.
@chapelhillgov.bsky.social can you please help keep these vital connections clear? They're packed too solid to melt anytime soon.

Driver: I'll slow down if I see somebody in the street, obviously
Me: Will you slow down for the person you don't see?
Driver: [seething rage at me for suggesting they are less than perfect, omniscient, superhero-level drivers]
I have never met a driver who knows the correct answer to this question
27.01.2026 11:45 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0In NC, legally, 2 must yield to the ped even without a marked crosswalk. Does doing so mean 3 and 1 must also wait? Or has 2 forfeited their turn by waiting, as the law mandates, for the pedestrian to cross?
27.01.2026 11:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0If you really want to break some brains, add a pedestrian crossing in front of 2.
27.01.2026 11:41 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0But only if 3 and 1 have their turn signals on. Odds are at least one of them doesn't. Because they like to watch things burn.

Gaslit the neighbors' toddler into thinking falling off a sled and getting a face full of ice is great fun, actually
