I understand your point, but what I am suggesting that the people wanting to destroy have not had their brains tricked yet. That is the very reason they are vehemently opposed to it. It is not activating some deep 'othering' response. it is they recognise the potential harms and want to stop them.

but i am doing nothing of the sort. my walls protect me and are useful. The widespread application of AI is environmentally and societally destructive. Resisting its widespread use is an act of self-preservation. I think defense of a computer over humanity suggests something wrong with you.

if peoples' brains are being tricked into having feelings for the computer that is something that they should be addressing themselves, not worrying about others wanting to destroy it and suggesting that is dehumanizing. that is nonsense, it is computer. a tool. nothing more.
