Greystar was using rent-setting algorithms from software company RealPage, the subject of a 2022 ProPublica investigation that showed the firm was helping landlords decide prices in a way that legal experts said could result in cartel-like behavior.

There are 33m companies in the USA. Only 21k employe 500 or more. And they only make up 23% of workers.
Trump and Elon are ignoring the more than 32m entrepreneurs that can't afford to build a new factory or pay tariffs or absorb cancelled contracts.

Wired is dropping paywalls for FOIA-based reporting. Others should follow
As the administration does its best to hide public records from the public, Wired magazine is stepping up to help stem the secrecy
They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.

Trump’s Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent just told Americans to stop demanding things like “access to cheap goods” because it’s “not the essence of the American dream.”

City removes bike lane protective barriers - The Boston Globe
Where flexible-post bollards once lined green bikeways, there are now empty holes.
I've been critical of the Boston Globe's reporting on bike infrastructure, but this article on the removal of protected bike lanes is quite good. It centers the story on the risks to cyclists, and only briefly mentions neighborhood opponents (who are identified as drivers in the area).

I woke up with an Adele song in my head. I don't listen to Adele. If its on, I don't turn it off, but I don't know anybody who listens to it. Maybe I'll start.

I had a similar question a couple nights ago. Not sure how I collected so many lockrings for cassettes. There was one in all my many boxes of parts.
