I'd like to question fear-mongering, Islamophobic Democrats whether they supported the removal and incarceration of Japanese Americans based partially on accusations of "emperor worship" as part of Shinto. I wonder what they'd say esp. since FDR was a Democrat.

I've never heard of Linda Sarsour using any kind of anti-Semitic language or sentiment. Remember that being critical of Israeli govt policy and/or expressing solidarity with Palestinians is NOT anti-Semitic. Many people are critical of Israel and in solidarity with the people of Gaza.

It's a valid comparison. U.S. politics was dominated by WASPs - White Anglo Saxon Protestants -- and Catholics and Jews were reviled in WASP strongholds.

Too bad there are so many racist Americans steeped in racism for generations. Some of this reminds me of how my U.S. born parents and their immigrant parents were smeared with the accusation that they worshipped the emperor of Japan, and this was enuf to remove and incarcerate them, too.

Abortion isn't a topic in Australia, thank God! It's legal & not an issue at all.

Abortion is between a doctor and their patient, and all about the mental & physical health of the woman. Not anyone else's business.

Income inequality is something that we have to fight before, during, and after trump.

Rallies and demonstrations are not enuf. We need to build a broad civil resistance movement of many orgs made up of many people who are connected in-person. This is a protracted struggle. We cannot turn this around overnight. SM will not win it. The internet won't win it. Join an organization.

We need people who have never been in 3rd spaces (social/political spaces other than home or work) to join a local organization. Financially supporting nat'l grps is good, too, but we need to build the broad in-person democratic movement that is connected to others.

Full of truths that make anti-immigrant paranoia look as stupid as it is. Immigrants make for a vibrant economy.

Join ICE! Like the Gestapo, but for cowards. Do dogs hate you? Need cash to spend on a punisher skull tattoo instead of child support? Can you only get hard to the sounds of children crying? After the DOGE purge, reality is setting in. It turns out, workers are actually needed. The FAA just announced plans to hire at least 8,900 air traffic controllers. The National Weather Service is bringing on hundreds of new staff, just months after losing more than 500 people.
