A lot of time and effort has gone into survey research around what is the best protest sign slogan, message, wording etc and to be frank the research is pretty clear the most effective things you can do at a protest are express joy and express camaraderie, don't overthink it

But that is far from the reality many citizens have experienced. Americans have been dragged, tackled, beaten, tased and shot by immigration agents. They’ve had their necks kneeled on. They’ve been held outside in the rain while in their underwear. At least three citizens were pregnant when agents detained them. One of those women had already had the door of her home blown off while Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem watched.

This is a devastating account of what ICE is doing to our friends, neighbors and fellow US citizens. Incredible work by @propublica.org.

Shutdown near certain after Senate again rejects funding bills Lawmakers are poised to barrel into the first government funding lapse since 2019.

Republicans just shut down the government to rip away healthcare and hand Trump another blank check for his illegal power grab. Instead of negotiating a budget that protects families, Republicans chose to throw working families under the bus. This is the GOP’s shutdown & they own the damage from it.

Dems need to denounce and fight this Portland insanity very, very hard. Our unacceptable hesitancy when Trump invaded DC encouraged further escalation. We should be demanding Congress return to deal with this "emergency" - briefings, hearings, debate. We have to fight.
