I joined the editorial team of an amazing journal committed to equity work. I'm surprised and disappointed: assistant professors say yes to reviews, and associate and full professors decline or don’t respond. Everyone is busy. But if you’ve climbed the academic ladder, steady it for others.

Maybe I'm off topic by pointing this out. I went to U Idaho from 2002 - 2005 and this kind of extremist stuff was all over even then. The article's point that it seems more systematic now is profound, but conservative attacks on higher ed in the state have a looooonnngg history.

They say "If NIC goes under, students will either need to pay out-of-state tuition in nearby Spokane, Washington, move south, or abandon their aspirations of higher education" Pullman WA is an 8 minute bike ride away from Moscow and it has community colleges on the WSU campus

What happened after California banned suspensions for willful defiance in grades K-3?

Short answer: suspensions didn't decline faster than they already had been, and large disparities by race/SES/IEP remained.

If you find a way, let me know. I find I can focus on two or three of these things at a time, at the expense of all the others (usually service and weight training get the short shrift)
