I expanded my Arduino Wave Bard controller with two additional mutating shift registers, LEDs, and a randomize button that resets the number of steps and beats in the Euclidean rhythm as well as the patterns in the shift registers. Sometimes the results are musical, sometimes not so much.

It’s freezing out, so I skipped my usual lunchtime run and threw this together real quick. Just two modules, Pam’s New Workout and MI Elements, plus the Wave Bard. Really liking the bird samples on the Wave Bard here. Definitely going to explore this setup more.

Playing with sound on the Octatrack as usual. The clip starts at a manic tempo with sub-50% probability on all trigs. After ~15 seconds I slow things down and you can get a better handle on what’s happening. #autechre

“Sample mangling” sounds very violent and aggressive. Producers could instead say “I worked with the sample to help it become a better version of itself”.

Third day in a row with the Bastl Wave Bard. This time I loaded samples from my modular synth and paired it with the Volca Drum.

Here’s an excerpt from my second experiment with the Bastl Wave Bard, this time without any external effects. I loaded it with tabla, sounds from the 7-Up Cool Spot game on Sega Genesis, and a few of the synth samples that I used in yesterday’s video.
