Complaining to Labour about problems created by the Tories is at epidemic proportions on here. How the fuck are they meant to have reversed fourteen years of decline in fourteen months?

I'm the same. My pixel phone does amazing voice transcription, but the opportunities to use it are rare. Most of the time you don't want anyone hearing what you're typing.

The US broadcast media giants have bowed the knee to Trump with barely a whimper. Pathetic..

KEY to the story about ABC suspending Kimmel's show: Nexstar and Sinclair, two big owners of ABC-affiliated stations, both need FCC approval for pending deals. With a lot of $$ on the line, both have reason to curry favor with the Trump admin. Both decided to yank Kimmel's show.

WGA Statement on ABC’s Decision to Pull Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The right to speak our minds and to disagree with each other – to disturb, even – is at the very heart of what it means to be a free people. It is not to be denied. Not by violence, not by the abuse of governmental power, nor by acts of corporate cowardice.

As a Guild, we stand united in opposition to anyone who uses their power and influence to silence the voices of writers, or anyone who speaks in dissent. If free speech applied only to ideas we like, we needn't have bothered to write it into the Constitution. What we have signed on to – painful as it may be at times – is the freeing agreement to disagree.

Shame on those in government who forget this founding truth. As for our employers, our words have made you rich. Silencing us impoverishes the whole world.

The WGA stands with Jimmy Kimmel and his writers.

It’s happening. The takedown of Jimmy Kimmel is likely the start of a campaign to use the murder of Charlie Kirk as a pretext to use the power of the White House to wipe out Trump’s critics and his political opponents.

But we aren’t powerless. We can mobilize and organize. Now.

A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say.

This is an attack on free speech and cannot be allowed to stand.

All elected officials need to speak up and push back on this undemocratic act.

❀️ if you think Kimmel and Colbert need to start their own podcasts immediately to amplify the resistance so the truth can be made loud and clear and we can take back the House and Senate come 2026 midterms.

Fascism is seeing people like Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert being fired for speaking truth to power against repugnant fascists and their criminal immoral actions.

I was a bit unsure about Channel 4's 'Trump vs The Truth', but it's started very strongly. The format is beautifully simple, with fact checks just written in text after each lie is shown. It will stand as an important record of the most venal, glibly self-serving, idiot shyster ever to hold office.

Nuclear works. It’s safe, clean and reliable. In other countries, it’s affordable too.

Here's how Britain can lead again in nuclear by fixing bad safety rules, streamlining planning, and creating new routes to market.

I left Twitter today. Joined Twitter over 16 years ago but since Musk bought it, it has become a lawless hell-hole where anything goes. Met lots of really lovely people from Twitter and was a prolific user but after Musk’s video at the weekend I just cannot justify continued use of the platform.

NHS waiting times have skyrocketed under the SNP, forcing people to seek private healthcare.

Today, Scottish Labour conference in Glasgow will set out our ambitious plan to fix our NHS.
