The Pac-Man nebula. I photographed this nebula from a nearby parking lot, using long exposures over the course of 3 nights.

The andromeda galaxy sits at a 45 degree angle, with a sister galaxy nearby. Swirls of dark dust run in a spiral towards the core, and small bright specks of far off worlds encircle the bright center.

I spent 20 hours photographing the Andromeda galaxy, taking long exposures over the course of four nights to create this image.

I’ve been working long hours recently so my photography time has been limited. I’ve been working on a couple projects though, and I’ll hopefully get at least one processed tomorrow. No promises, but I’m very excited about a 20 hour one in particular.

The heart nebula, in false colors typical of narrowband images. In this image, red is sulfur, green is hydrogen, and blue is oxygen. The heart shaped gasses envelop a bright core, with stars scattered around.

Use generalized hyperbolic stretch (GHS) in pixinsight for stretching! It works amazing and it’s pretty intuitive.

The 4x seems to have a bit better detail
