There's a 20ish yr gap between the plausible time for my protagonist to be there and the actual historical events alluded to in the story so I hope the average reader will simply not know enough about Peruvian naval and immigration history to tell

I'm gonna have to issue a blanket apology to the 5-7 academics that will be able to tell that this fictional, fantasy story is not historically accurate
