When you can't stop yourself zoning out, thinking about the plot of your WIP...
And you could do without people trying to bring you back to the real world.
Nope not happening โ

Deliciously Impressive! Hope you've stocked up on the Gaviscon (other heartburn remedies are available), just in case ๐

29.11.2025 21:00 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yes, it's great to have a series to escape into, especially when it's very different from your WIP.
It's probably not going to become a regular thing, but I'm watching "I am Mita, your housekeeper" (Japanese series on Netflix). Honestly not sure what I think of it, but it is strangely compelling!
So true and especially this time of year.
Fruit cake's working for me at the minute. I know there's worse things, but I'm starting to worry it might be addictive ๐
Not all short cuts save you time.
I'm spending ages manually correcting strange words like CuSamer, Samato & BotSams which have mysteriously appeared in my WIP?!
That's what you get for changing a character's name from Tom to Sam & carelessly hitting "Replace All".
Gotta love word๐

And like Tolkien's quote:
"Not all those who wander are lost."
Hahaha, I can picture a suit of armour clanking out of that door any minute...

When we were visiting my lovely Aunt B on the Isle of Wight, she left a fruit pie outside her window.
We'll never know how tasty it was, but the red squirrels certainly enjoyed chomping on it!
Why is plugging so much harder than writing?๐ ๐๐

In recent interviews, Pullman talks about seeing imagination as much more than making things up - more like an energy field. Fascinating stuff. And it would make a great essay question. "Imagination is a form of perception." Discuss.

Got to love the attention to detail in the state of Aggie's writer's room.
And the way she's so pissed off with anyone who thinks they know her just because they've read her book ๐๐ #amwriting #WritingCommunity

But if you mean the cellular memory thing - not entirely fanciful. Donor DNA has been detected in recipients up to 2 years post transplant, so may be exerting some influence, even if it's only a newfound taste for broccoli or holding a paintbrush ๐ค
I take your point, but certainly can trigger the imagination. I sometimes think I'm Agent Scully in the cold light of day, but transform into Mulder by night.
And of course, there's possible cellular memory from previously owned organs.
So true, and the idea of ghost attachments is a compelling one. It's actually the main theme of my first novel, Pre-owned, which works on a few different levels.
