this is a great point, I was thinking that my post could give the idea that we need to justify the sponsoring. Just in case, I don't think that is the case. I wanted to show some concrete cases because it could help when discussing with a boss about putting money in oss.

SvelteKit 3 will require it - giving additional optimizations and functionality. E.g. SvelteKit 3 will use @rolldown.rs hook filters to spend more compilation time in rust and less in JavaScript. And SvelteKit 3 adapters use only rolldown without esbuild

maintainers pay these needs from their pockets when companies don't support them. kudos to @voidzero.dev, @netlify.com, and others for giving me the resources i need for my oss adventures. there is more we want and can do if your company helps us. choose a maintainer close to you. and gear them up ✌️
