Love the shirt; wish it wasn’t required, but I love the shirt

Imagine your entire product line being geared towards artists, then (after several other dodgy decisions) decide not to support actual artists and jump on the genAI wagon instead.

Guess I need to find a new supplier for airbrush paints….

The irony, barely a week after calling out bribes in return for fake TrustPilot reviews, they email to inform that a genuine review for a company that went above and beyond to look after their customer.

Sorry Hachette, I tried to tell the world how awesome you were, but TrustPilot said no....

Random spam (lure: @netflix.com renewal failure) hit my inbox this morning whilst I had nothing better to do, so I poked about.

Actually really like this; to sell the con, the landing page is a branded faked @cloudflare.social capture page.

This new, new? Or have I just been aware from analysis?

Not sure how much you can trust TrustPilot when reviews are bought with bribes?…

I’ll also add some modern reworkings to the mix.

Both Miles Hudson’ 2089 spiritual successor (and rest of trilogy) based, in part, on modern interviews with Snowden and others; and Sandra Newman’ alternative view from the perspective of Julia are great modern reads.

When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.

A section of a blog post by blogger/journalist PupRed indicating that Bitvise said the following in response to something written by PupRed:

Update: Bitvise escalates with personal attack after publishing private correspondence
Following publication of this article, Bitvise took the unusual step of publishing the entire email exchange with the journalist on their public support site, including the journalist’s full name without consent β€” despite a clear request to anonymize or redact personal information.

When asked to censor the name, a Bitvise representative responded not with a correction, but with verbal abuse:

β€œLol πŸ˜‚ You fucking idiot.”

This statement β€” sent via the company’s official support channel β€” raises serious concerns not only about Bitvise’s domain practices, but also about its conduct, professionalism, and treatment of individuals engaging in legitimate inquiry.

The incident reflects a pattern: rather than addressing substantive criticism about its use of the putty.org domain, Bitvise has responded with deflection, hostility, and now a personal attack on a journalist β€” further distancing itself from the transparency and accountability expected in both commercial and open-source communities.

So Bitvise, the developer of an SSH client that competes with PuTTY, the widely-used open-source SSH and Telnet client, somehow got hold of the domain putty.org and is using it to promote its own products.

Here's how Bitvise responded to a tech blogger/journalist who wrote about this situation.

Anyone else having issues with purchases via SkyStore?

Error message claims the problem is with my card (expiry date) - yet tried two different cards and I can see the test Β£1 purchases (and immediate refunds) being successful against both accounts.

Guess I’m watching something else tonight…

2 Sandisk thumb drives. Old one robust metal construction. New looks to be made of bendy cardboard

When did @sandiskstorage.bsky.social start making drives out of cardboard (it seems)?

Old faithful has finally started to fail me after many years. Feels solid, robust and reliable.

It’s replacement? Bends when you pick it up… think it’s relegated to a throwaway drive as don’t trust it long term

The administration is threatening to strip the citizenship of a man voters chose to serve as the Democratic Party’s nominee for Mayor of New York City because they don’t like his political views.

Citizen status shouldn’t matter at this point.

No human, documented or otherwise, should kidnapped off the street.

People traffickers in US must be rubbing their hands together at this point, it’s open-season with everyone just *assuming* it’s ICE

An entire village in Dorset is facing eviction – proof that private money holds all the power in rural England | George Monbiot This scandalous story gives lie to the claim that the biggest threat to country life comes from city dwellers, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

β€œThe real conflict is not town v country, but money & power v people.”

Profound piece by @georgemonbiot.bsky.social on the forthcoming eviction of an entire village by a faceless plutocrat, the enclosure of access, & @righttoroam.bsky.social’s next mass trespass:

Hoping my MP @marykfoymp.bsky.social agrees and champions this stance.

UK must learn the lessons of the past and not follow a suicidal US strike back into the Middle East - let Trump own the consequences of his (rash & possible illegal) actions.

I’m old enough to remember when part of Trumpet’ sales pitch was that other world leaders respected him enough that they’d do has he asked and would negotiate and deal without having to resort to violence.

Guess they don’t respect him as much as he thought/claimed/lied?

Also, FUuuuuuu…….
