If the London Box had gone ahead half of Brixton would have been demolished and for various contingent reasons I’d never have been born.

I know many people, particularly from London's diverse communities, are feeling extremely worried following the events this weekend.

It takes me back to how I felt growing up in the ’70s and ’80s, when
far-right political parties marched on our streets.

The leaders of the far-right are once again attempting to hijack our flag, with minorities being intimidated and fear, hatred and division being sown.

As Londoners, and as proud Brits, we must unite to reject the far-right
– just as we have many times before.

But it’s going to take a huge effort from us all – from people of all races and backgrounds, who are willing to stand up for our British values of equality, inclusion and mutual respect.

As Mayor, I'll continue to do everything I can to challenge the far-right and all those who peddle the politics of fear and division.

I urge other politicians and Londoners to do the same.

MAYOR OF LONDON, SADIQ KHAN

Dear Britain, it’s now clear: 20mph zones save lives and don’t slow traffic. Implement them | Sadiq Khan There is too much bluff and bluster on this subject. Ordinary people just want safe streets for themselves and those they love, and we can achieve that, says London mayor Sadiq Khan

Introducing the Data for London Library || London Data Week 2025
YouTube video by London Gov | City Hall Introducing the Data for London Library || London Data Week 2025

Last week was London's biggest ever (and bestest) #LondonDataWeek. The perfect time for us to launch the new Data for London Library. Here's what it's about:

dfl.london.gov.uk/library is a cool evolution of the London Datastore - allowing teams to signal what data exists, even if it’s not ready to share or to release in full. That visibility helps others discover, understand, and plan around the city’s data assets.

When people told us we couldn’t tackle toxic air pollutionβ€”we did it.

When people told us we couldn’t fund free school meals for our kidsβ€”we did it.

Together, we can help end rough sleeping in London by 2030.

Nearly two-thirds of London’s CO2 emissions come from buildings, with domestic buildings account for 32% of emissions. Identifying which buildings would benefit from retrofit is tricky, but luckily machine learning can help. Enter the London Building Stock Model 2: data.london.gov.uk/blog/london-...

TfL bans most e-bikes on trains amid concern over igniting batteries Only folding models will be permitted on London Underground, Overground, Elizabeth Line and DLR trains from 31 March

REMINDER: From the end of this month, non-folding e-bikes will no longer be allowed on TfL’s tube and rail services. While most e-bikes are safe, some have posed a serious fire risk.

This ban is in place to keep Londoners safe, following a comprehensive review by TfL.

Great news Β£10m investment For London's cultural and creative industries

London’s creative industries help make our city the greatest in the world. I want London to grow and thrive over the next decadeβ€”they have a central role to play.

We’re investing Β£10m in fashion, design, film and gaming to keep our capital at the forefront of these industries.

Today I’ve announced a new Β£6m fund to help organisations continue their life-changing work with some of the most vulnerable people experiencing domestic abuse.

It will ensure victims and survivors of domestic abuse in safe accommodation get the specialist support they need.

Despite caseloads growing, domestic abuse support groups are struggling to survive due to the cost-of-living crisis and years of underfunding from the previous government.

I’m working with partners to fund vital support services for thousands of domestic abuse survivors.

StreetLink - Connecting people sleeping rough to local services Welcome to StreetLink. Make an alert if you've seen someone sleeping rough, or if you're sleeping rough and want to find out about local support services.

Due to the sudden drop in temperature, I am activating SWEP in partnership with London boroughs.

Emergency accommodation will be open to anyone sleeping rough. If you see someone sleeping rough, alert Street Link and help them out of the cold.

ULEZ works. It’s that simple.

Expanding the Ultra Low Emission Zone wasn’t a decision I took lightly, but the latest figures show that it was the right one for the health of millions of Londoners.
