True: @zohranmamdani lives in 1 unit of rent-stabilized housing.
Also true: Andrew Cuomo oversaw the loss of 96,064 units of rent-stabilized housing. And killed NYC’s program helping people move out of shelter.
Leaders must show moral clarity. Andrew, time to move out. 🧵

Interesting. My grandmother made cornmeal mush, which was similar preparation and serving, but was largely the course corn meal and a little bit of pork without the liver, etc. Fried up and with a little bit of syrup was delicious.

I learned recently that if it gives you that little image on the picture that looks like a couple of lines of text, you can press on that and it will transcribe (reasonably well - it’s OCR) and you can copy and paste.
Anyway, I’m sorry for being snippy instead of more a helpful response.

I have it set to require it, which really helps me maintain the discipline. The text in this case was just so throw away that it got under my skin more than no all text at all would have.

I read a long article about the Sarah Lawrence one, maybe in the Atlantic or New Yorker a few years ago. Creeepy. Not sure I will venture into the doc.

Right, it was the original post I was calling out. I do appreciate people in the comments adding it like Katiesaurus.

A screen cap of the bottom of the post, which includes an image of a lengthy Facebook post, showing the alt text which reads “Facebook plea”
Huh. All I see is this.
Happy to be wrong in this case. I’m trying to do better myself and generally wouldn’t say anything but this one just seemed egregious based on how it appeared on my phone.
My apologies to OP if it’s user error, which I certainly never like to rule out :-)

In Canada visiting family last week and got this a lot. I am not, yet, materially affected much. Work goes on life goes on. The mental, emotional, community toll is constant and escalating & the channels for action limited. Slow motion devastation on so many levels. But so much worse for others.

That’s your alt text? Why bother?

There actually is an episode somewhere in the run where’s he’s having to work with structural engineers and shit in order to, you know, not die and take a swagger of other houses down with him.

Not my neighbor coming over on a steamy 90+ August afternoon to build me a new fence.
Same guy dropped by on a 3 degree morning last winter to fix my dock.
At least this time I was able to give him a ginger lemonade - the most I’ve ever gotten him to accept for anything he sees as neighborly.

Researchers found that pediatric ER visits for asthma decreased by 40 percent almost immediately after a local coal processing plant closed down in 2015.
Our current administration is trying to bring back and increase coal burning power plants, and working to eliminate clean air protections.

I believe one of the new mRNA vaccines was expected to treat colon cancer, and another had the potential to keep pancreatic cancer from recurring. That’s what they’re taking away.

Most cities are safer than ever.
I’m uncomfortable in rural areas with wingnut sheriffs and a million untrained yahoos walking around with guns but there are no media outlets talking about how scary those places are for partisan reasons.
