100% agree with BotW for sure. The first time through that game is just a magical experience overall, and one I wish I could experience all over again.

Then again, I feel a lot of big Switch 1/2 games are like that. Odyssey, DK Bananza, Luigi’s Mansion 3…

Honestly, I’d rather have a slower growing industry that one based on exploiting and manipulating people through casino like mechanics.

I’m sure the casino and sports betting industries would say the same thing about regulation there too…

Yeah it’s genuinely refreshing how few ads Serebii.net has. It’s one of the reasons I use it on mobile, since most news sites and wikis perform terribly on that hardware.

Comparing it to Bulbapedia on that front is kinda depressing.

Hmm does anyone have any idea where they may have come from? Don’t know much Japanese, but given that Zelda character names usually fit into a theme, I’m curious what’s going on here.

Oh hey I took part in this video about what Nintendo could announce for the 40th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda series! It’s well worth watching for sure, since all sorts of Zelda creators are featured here!

No not yet. It doesn’t feel like my top priority as far as new game purchases go. Maybe I’ll get it in future or something.

God these sprites look awesome. Makes me wish someone would actually build a Kirby themed Super Mario RPG ROM hack with them or something, that would be incredible!

Filled it out. Generally I’d say gaming video creators and influencers tend to be split into two categories: those that respond to what’s in the ‘mainstream’ media and those that cover a very specialist topic that doesn’t get much traditional media coverage (speedruns, mods, etc)

Didn’t realise Conker’s Pocket Tales has a court room/jail scene. Kinda hard to remember that Conker did indeed have games before Bad Fur Day.

Oh damn, didn’t expect one of the hosts of Designing For on the Kongversation. As someone who likes both shows, this is gonna be awesome.

Also, kinda funny to think that both Mario and DK got screwed over by a kangaroo court. Ah well, least the latter gets out of trouble much quicker!

Now that’s an interesting take. Out of curiosity, what made you prefer the later NSMB games over Wonder? I guess it’s a level design vs creative theming thing?

Well that’s kinda depressing. I mean it probably makes sense in a “wants to diversify sources of income so it’s not from oil” sense, but they’re one of the governments I least want involved in running companies that could influence people elsewhere.

Wasn’t SNK owned by a group like this? Kinda worried how prominent Saudi Arabia is in owning video game developers and other gaming related companies at the moment.

If there’s anything you’ll notice on that site, it’s that people will add you to lists for the most random stuff possible, and block others at the drop of a hat.

Honestly makes me wonder what the Clearsky page for someone like Fred Rogers or Bob Ross would be. Bet they’d still be on lists/blocked!

Genuinely surprised it didn’t include SMB 1 too. Super Mario Land 1 and 2 were amazing too, those would have been great parts of the series.

Well, that’s a wrap on the #DonkeyKongBananza DLC. Statues collected, extra boss down, silly Bananatone puzzle completed.

That’s really cool! Makes me want to see a Mario & Luigi game with Wario and Waluigi as some of the main characters, like loads of fan concepts used to suggest.

Super Mario Galaxy has probably the most badass version of Bowser in the main series. It’s not Paper Mario 1 level competent or Paper Jam level messed up, but it’s the most powerful he’s felt in a platformer for sure.

Reminds me of how a certain Donkey Kong Country 2 song name was actually created by DK Vine, leading to an interesting reaction when it was renamed for Nintendo Music.

To be fair, many older games didn’t really name their songs, so whatever fan upload did best usually became the de facto name.

Heck yeah! It may not be much of the soundtrack, but it’s some of the best songs anyway, and makes me excited for when the rest gets added in future.
