Fairly strong mesocyclone on this storm in western Finland, where modelled profiles look supportive of tornadoes.

I have an update for NLradar, which includes auto-download for 4 more countries: Slovakia, Croatia, Romania and Sweden. Also included is 1 Austrian radar (Hochficht). Further, it add support for French NetCDF files with historical radar data (radarsmf.aeris-data.fr/acces-donnees/).

The record-long streak of 30 °C in Finland finally ended yesterday. The outcome was an impressive 22 consecutive 30-degree days between 12 July and 2 August.

Who would have believed in June? Not me at least.

Pretty strong looking supercell in northern Sweden today, south of Kiruna. Not a very common place I think for such a storm:

20 straight days with 30 °C in Finland! Truly unprecedented heatwave still in full swing with maximum today about 32-33 degrees.

Even the Arctic regions (e.g. Sodankylä Tähtelä) have seen three weeks above 25 °C, and may rival tomorrow their August heat records.

This looks like a bad situation very locally in central Romania, with an intense and almost stationary storm, attached to a mountain ridge, going on for more than 3 hours already: streamable.com/xwzp50

In this radar loop you can see multiple suspicious looking evolutions of storms: streamable.com/rouk83. It seems quite likely to me that more than 2 tornadoes occurred in this region.

A bit later, the storm of the second circulation produced another one that moved directly over the BVE airport (Brive Vallée de la Dordogne Airport)... But I didn't find any report of a wind event on this airport.

Based on radar it's very likely that at least 2 tornadoes occurred in France yesterday evening, given that for both events a region of low CC (possible tornadic debris signature/TDS) is collocated with a velocity couplet.

2 hours earlier, another storm produced an extremely damaging wind-driven hail event in Mortegliano: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQGH.... Note again the very impressive BWER, and the intense outflow visible in the doppler velocities.

A quite remarkable rainfall event is unfolding in south and east Denmark. Some stations have seen over 100mm in the past 24 hours, with Neble in the far SE recording 136.7mm so far.
The Danish all-time 24h record is 168.9mm recorded in July 1931.
There are increasing reports of flooding.
