I'm working on a talk to be delivered to a group of very brilliant artists who are interesting in emerging and immersive technologies. Alt title could be "Please don't design the Torment Nexus".

My experience with these kinds of flickering issues is the problem had to do with the frame rate. Be it a mismatch or a translation error. Try fooling around with the display strings on the Mac side. I had to resort to a 3rd party app to fix my issues

If it's a sit-stand, getting something that mounts to the desk might be the most versatile solution.
I instead got 56" floor stands with alt speakers stacked on top on a separate tier.

Getting a bad feeling today

I'm thinking a new age of Buckley vs Vidal debates. Let's return to the Socratic method of showing these fools (and a live studio audience) how detached from reality they are.

How thinking like this should get you laughed at rather than praise from a group of unevolved cretins.

I don't think the latter would help to fix these men. Martyrdom and victimhood are too precious of currency to be wasted on a retuning of your relationship to society.

They need to be told they are stupid.

They should no longer be able to hide behind bylines, softball interviews, and talk shows.

There are 2 things I believe we all need to experience in our lifetime:
-an idea we have being called "stupid"
-being punched in the face

(These are not the only 2 things, but the 2 things that I believe can humble egos and put you in the right perspective of living amongst other people)

Whatever the reason may be, clearly they have become gluttons for praise to support their egos and will run in any direction that will feed them.

Or even, they have succumbed to the false reality of sycophantic remoras (surely attempting to reform reality in their own image) that they can't possibly imagine a reality where they could be wrong.

Perhaps they also spent too much time speaking or writing to the Aether with no check on the veracity or ethics of their claims.

I'm still developing this theory, but the similarities in manner and ideology between this guy (Yarvin), Andreessen, and I suppose any other self-worshipping Randian CEO/corporate creature were told they were "smart" one too many times. Perhaps they received one too many participation trophies.
