The whole point of a national government is to scale up the stuff we cannot do locally or through private institutions. Religious orgs, neighborhoods, & food banks aren't enough. This is why we pay taxes, to redistribute resources to meet basic needs that keep society viable.

SNAP benefits aren't only for those who need them. When a person or family uses them, they help grocery markets, supply chain, and the economy.

Monthly is averages $8.3 billion and yearly $99.8 billion in revenue lost.
