Pressure grows on Germany over rigid support for Israel Pressure is building on Germany to join steps to sanction Israel over the Gaza war, sparking heated debate in a country that has long been at pains to atone for the Holocaust.

I talked to @afp.com about Germany being under increasing pressure for its Israel policy. German responsibility "could be seen as the responsibility towards international law, the international rules-based order, the promise that genocide must never happen again."

I'm a bit more skeptical when it comes to CGIAR, a system that's historically connected to (yet not the only one to blame for) the rise of the corporate capture of seeds and market + patent control which is correctly deplored in the episode.

Stattdessen schaut man wie gebannt nach D.C. Da muss die späte Distanzierung von Israels Aushungern der pal. Ziv.bev. schon als Fortschritt bezeichnet werden (ist es im Vgl. zur Ampel auch). Doch auch hier: Z.B Indonesien könnte ein Vermittler sein, China Druck machen. Aber man müsste halt fragen.

Doch @aussenminister.diplo.de war in diesen Städten zusammengenommen 0 (in Worten: null) mal. Trumps erratisches Verhalten wäre eine riesige Gelegenheit, die Fehler von @albaerbock.bsky.social auszubügeln, idealerweise mit einer Entschuldigung für die bisherige Ignoranz und einem ernsthaften Angebot
