This looks great! How about a lighting pass on playable space versus dressing? I'm not sure where I'm supposed to run as the player currently.

Thank you to everyone who voted, and well done to everyone who participated. It was a surprisingly difficult theme but there were some excellent entries!
Now to make it into a full release...?

Do up down left right all call the same follow logic? Are you calculating in degrees and it's getting a funky 0.0001 degree when it goes up? Does it think the player is still in the way and is pathing to avoid collision? That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
15.06.2025 19:22 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0If you're a solo dev or small indie, you can't expect to be the best at everything. As long as you can put your ego aside and understand which advice to take and which to ignore (and build up a network of people who are willing to give advice!) then you'll be in a strong position imo.
13.06.2025 13:42 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0UI is the absolute worst. I've never found any software that handles it gracefully.
Wait until you design for 2k, 4k, ultra wide, super ultra wide etc. just the pits

Please judge our worth as people!
Thanks to my partner
@oddcatstudio.bsky.social for making this game jam a roaring success. I was pleased to see we were fairly unique in our interpretation of the theme

Was a great jam, well done!
08.06.2025 14:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Just finished a Gamejam entry with @devmythmachine.bsky.social . Had a week to make something for "Into the Future", this is what we came up with!

Just completed our entry to the GDG game jam 5. Roughly 35 hours over 1 week between the two of us. Used a couple assets from the UE store and free to use audio.
I'll send out another message when voting opens!

You guys are definitely punching above your weight with this title

01.06.2025 08:51 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Something a little different for screenshot Saturday because I'm still really early in development. The blueprint only server logic for my coop box game!

26.05.2025 09:24 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Brutal. Sitting across from my wife and daughter as they play, reading this has crushed me.
Thank you for sharing your journey.
I'll drop some GIFs or something next week and you can decide! (I'm away from home atm so don't have access to my home PC)
21.05.2025 20:45 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0How early in development do you want to see? Are you looking for released games?
21.05.2025 20:19 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Made a fun little menu for my co-op indie game. It's about moving colours boxes around!

Your project suddenly not building, or worse yet not opening, is the worst feeling in the world.
I'm glad you saved it!
Menu'ing is by far the thing I enjoy the least! I'm mega jelly if you find this part fun
18.05.2025 17:11 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This hits home. I think the question is what you're trying to achieve right? If you're looking to make money, then get some play testers and see if they have fun. If not, move on. If you're looking to learn, then stick with it, remove as many features as possible, then polish and ship it super fast?
16.05.2025 22:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0!!! Well done!!!
12.04.2025 21:27 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0We won the GDG 4.0 game jam! Thank you to everyone who voted.
If you'd like to try our little co-op platformer you can find it here:
itch.io/jam/thegdg-g...
Now you've done 80% of the feature, you realise you've only spent 20% of the time you're going to need to finish the feature off >:(
