I'm not saying that those aren't important issues, I'm just a bit baffled why you are expecting such large scale political issues to be discussed in a smutty romance story very tightly focused on the relationship between two queer individuals & their personal struggles

...Because they wanted to bring up that Russia homophobic and dangerous for queer people & talk about the dilemma of having to choose between your family/home country and being true to yourself? Because hockey is a big thing in Russia and thus fitting for a story about being queer in hockey?

+ and focusing on talking about one issue doesn't mean that you are "ignoring" all the others. You just can't address every single problem in the world in one discussion (or show).

The show is about Shane and Ilya (&Scott and Kip) falling in love and being queer in a very homophobic sport. Yeah they don't talk about Putin or Sochi etc. in the show, but they don't talk about many other political topics either. Because the show is about being queer and hockey being 💩 to queers,+

Let's remember that HR is a romance.And the main point of romance genre is the relationship between the main characters, people figuring out themselves &their emotions. So why are we judging such a show by how deep it dives into heavy geopolitical topics, instead of something it actually aims to do

Syntyvyyttä voisi toki lisätä mm. luomalla vakautta ihmisten elämään, mutta miehet tekee kuten miehet on tehneet läpi historian,ja hoitaa asian viemällä naisilta vapauden valita 🙄 Kunhan eka romutetaan itsenäisen toimeentulon mahdollisuudet, niin sitten voidaankin alkaa nakertaa ehkäisyn saatavuutta

Niin, tehdään naisten itsenäisestä toimeentulosta niin hankalaa, että pakko löytää asuinkumppani (mikä useimmille kuitenkin tarkoittaa sitä heterosuhteessa elämistä). Sitten seuraavaksi voikin alkaa hankaloittaa ehkäisyn saatavuutta, niin kyllä se syntyvyys siitä lähtee nousemaan 🙄

Että siis kun naisten syrjintä ei paperilla myöhennä miesten perheellistymistä, niin no problem? Koska käytännössähän miesten ja naisten lastensaanti on täysin toisistaan erillisiä asioita, eikä mitenkään heijastu miehiin ettei heillekään niitä lapsia tule, jos naiset ei niitä synnytä? Just...HOW would they've done the show in a way that follows the book? Just tons of "they are about to- ...but something interrupts them" scenes? Make Shane a shy virgin "I'm not ready"-ing anything sexual until ep6? Focus on them w Rose & Svetlana bc bet the no sex rule wouldn't have applied there?
