I have hope in Australia too that enough won't be won over by the gleam of selfishness that we go on caring for each other, even that we hunker down and care even harder in the face of what's happening elsewhere

trump saying with his whole chest that America is no longer woke just shows his goal is for America to no longer care. I don't think he can just decide that for the whole country so I still have hope he won't succeed

It really stuck with me what Jane Fonda said about being woke really meaning you care about other people. At its heart, that's where wokeness comes from. It became corrupted by those using it as a tool of one-upmanship but that's no longer about caring & shouldn't count

donald and elon are excellent examples of how the more wealth and/or power one has, the more frightened one becomes
