Spoiler: people are gonna say unkind things about us & think inaccurate things about us.

And none of it is our business.

If we're serious about recovery, we cannot skip the work of breaking our addiction to what we imagine-- or know-- others are thinking or saying about us.

Cities Say They Store Property Taken From Homeless Encampments. People Rarely Get Their Things Back. Storage programs are meant to protect people’s property rights and allow them to reclaim their possessions. But they rarely accomplish either objective, according to a ProPublica investigation of citi...

Criminalizing homelessness won’t end homelessness, and stealing from homeless people is theft.

Ensuring people have basic necessities to survive, and are treated with dignity shouldn’t be considered “far Left” when it’s morally right.

Trust me, trauma survivors have no problem stepping outside our comfort zone. Many of us have lived outside any recognizable "comfort zone" for years.

But-- feeling forced or pressured or shamed into uncomfortable situations again & again can paralyze & infuriate & trigger us.

I need people I can bitch and complain with about certain topics—people who get it, match my energy, and don’t turn their noses up at it.

Black and white photo of a medium haired white cat lying in loaf position on a lawn. The photo is pretty striking because it’s fairly dark but the cats’ face is dramatically illuminated by light streaming in from the right. It is reminiscent of how women’s faces were often lit in noir films of the 1940s and 50s. The cats’ eyes look they might be two different colors but it’s unclear if it’s due to heterochromia or just the stark lighting.

If we don’t break this cycle—by demanding transparency, holding people accountable, and focusing on solutions instead of blame—we’re just going to keep spinning in the same dysfunctional mess.

Both sides are so caught up in defending their narratives that they’d rather spin the story than admit fault. It’s exhausting and toxic, and the worst part is, it keeps voters trapped in the same loop of distrust and chaos.

Why is it that in politics, anytime something bad happens to one side, it’s immediately dismissed as fake news, a smear campaign, or some elaborate conspiracy? It’s like this constant cycle of mind fuckery where nothing is ever what it seems, and everyone’s too busy pointing fingers to face the
