most recent volume introduced a dwarf-coded fire mage who has a best friend CROW-GOAT mount that is an expert dungeon navigator.......... it does *not* get better than this.

tower dungeon has been one of my fave nihei projects so far, combining many of my interests with a nihei flavor.

his take on the tabletop rpg/dungeon crawler genre space is so compelling in how it is both so familiar and delightfully alien.

flew through these. nihei is just one of the best in the game right now.

yeah, if it wasn't down the street from work for me then it would certainly be stretching.... we do also have a few others around, but i just think the quality of the dev/scan in sc are exemplary. not to mention turnaround times and price...

waited 20~ years to read and it whipped. many folks told me that the texts "dragged" or that it had boring moments (bombadil). but i think that most folks who said that were movie-pilled, to put it politely. this was an end-to-end banger full of sumptuous writing that warmed the cockles of my heart.

i'm gonna do a 2026 reading thread so i can keep track/talk about it in a space where folks actually see/interact (goodreads/fable are just ghost towns for me...)...
