"Oh, don't worry. It was a rhetorical question. All your facilities will return soon enough."

Its precise origins are unknown. What we do know is that it is not of this world.
To me it is a catalyst, an agent of change, a gift from the heavens.
It is not malevolent. It has no will.
But what good is such power without the will to exert it?"
She slowly walks towards you while gazing up at the fresco.
"What you are looking at is a rather fanciful account of what happened when the Septelugh was first encountered.
Some consider it an entity, some a plague, others a god.
It's all a matter of perspective of course.
Day 10 of #RPGaDay2025 #RPGaDAY #ttrpg
Today's prompt: Origin
You attempt to sit up but your body will not co-operate.
"Please don't be alarmed. You'll be back on your feet soon enough."
She gracefully puts her down on the occasional table beside her before standing up.
Exquisitely dressed in an antiquated style, she peers at you over the rim of a teacup lifted from a saucer held in her other hand.
Suddenly, you realise you are no longer in possession of your coat or the letter that brought you here.
(Inspired by Brian Yaksha's Throne of Avarice)
You are so filled with awe that you haven't noticed you are not alone.
"Quite something, isn't it?" Says a genial voice.
You turn your head to see a venerable-looking woman seated across the room.
You cannot decide if you are looking at the depiction of a bizarre creation myth or some catastrophic world ending event. Perhaps both.
Every form of joy and suffering is on display. The torment and ecstasy of humans, beasts, angels, demons, and everything in between.
Day 9 of #RPGaDay2025 #RPGaDAY #ttrpg
Today's prompt: Inspire
Darkness.
You are laying on your back.
Your eyes initially focus on a baroque ceiling rose directly above. It is the centerpiece to a large fresco of mindboggling detail. You have never seen such artistry.

08.08.2025 15:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A strong herbal smell fills your nostrils. It reminds you of your childhood. The further you progress, the more you feel as though you belong in the peculiar place.
(Inspired by Emmy 'Cavegirl' Allen's The Gardens of Ynn)
You step into a once formal garden that clearly went to seed some years ago. It's so overgrown there is no sight of the residence it belongs to.
Many softly glowing plants turn what at first appeared to be an impenetrable tangle of vines and thick foliage, into an inviting pathway.
He turns the carriage around and heads back down the street.
This is the address written on the back of that precious letter.
"The Tatterdemalion, Acheronia Lane".
The gate squeaks so loudly it would qualify as an intruder alarm.
Day 8 of #RPGaDay2025 #RPGaDay #TTRPG
Your carriage comes to a halt beside the large ornate iron gate of a high-walled garden. You are treated to a welcome moment of peace as you alight. You pay the driver who tips his hat before the infernal clattering resumes.
You'll be out of this shady borough before nightfall which is all that really matters.
(Inspired by Andrew Kolb's OZ)
Not the most stylish way to travel. This particular sawhorse has seen better days, much of its old wooden body patched up with rusted metal plate. It makes one hell of a racket on the cobbled streets which means making small talk with the driver is practically impossible. A blessing in disguise.
07.08.2025 07:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Day 7 of #RPGaDay2025 #RPGaDay #TTRPG
Today's prompt: Journey
Thankfully, the trudge back from The Last Drop Inn was uneventful and you were fortunate enough to find an available sawhorse carriage at the docks before a thick fog bank rolled in.

No, he was going out with a bang and Feldspar would help him do it.
(Inspired by Jeansen Vaars' Game Unfolding Engine)
His eyesight was deteriorating and he knew he was coming to the end of his usefulness. There was no retirement plan here. He'd be tossed aside like the others before him.
Besides, he knew Uberloin's plan would never work and was damned if he was going to end his days on some fools errand.
Day 6 of #RPGaDay2025 #RPGaDay #TTRPG
Today's prompt: Motive
Benthic closed the tomb in front of him and rose from a chair that creaked almost as much as he did. His hunch remained even when standing.
As much as he got from his work, Benthic felt unappreciated.

(Inspired by Yochai Gal's Cairn 2e)
He sits hunched over a desk pawing through a curious tome, some heretical text about gateways to the underworld.
His workspace is cramped. This impressive library may as well be a broom cupboard thanks to the large stacks of books he has chosen to surround himself with.
