The last New York City mayoral candidate to secure over 1 million votes was John Lindsay in 1969. He will be the seventh New York City mayor ever to receive more than 1 million votes.

The last month of the anti-Mamdani campaign was an absolutely shameful undertaking, an attempt to rip the city and Democratic coalition apart and I'm very happy to see it failed.

A lot of Very Serious People will be pretending to be confused about What This All Means as a way to avoid the simple inconvenient reality: Voters like it when candidates are kind sincere non-weirdos who are passionate about big popular ideas that will actually help real people.

It’s a trifecta: VA, NJ and NYC, Democrats all win. As for Mamdani, voter turnout is massive, a great sign for democracy.

Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. It’s a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. We’ve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.

Mamdani will not only win but likely clear 50% in the highest turnout mayoral election in NYC since 1969. He's an absolute Rockstar with a get out the vote machine that should be the model for Democrats everywhere.

For the record: I'm not tired of winning.

If I was a Republican member of Congress watching the results tonight, I’d ask myself if I really wanted my legacy to be: Guy who helped an aging pedophile suspend the constitution so he could enrich himself and his friends.
