And I’m really quite astonished by the number of people who has said pretty much those exact words to me. Just don’t think about it! pretend it’s not happening! and I think that is the worst possible response to this moment. Regulate your news intake as you wish, but no I will not just ignore it.

It’s disturbing to me, when I say to otherwise kind, intelligent, aware people, “wow, bad shit is happening”, and they reply to me, “Oh you have to not watch the news. Don’t read the papers! Just don’t think about it.”

And NO that is a TERRIBLE answer. That’s exactly how we got here to begin with.
