I've been into Homestuck lately. I have this to say about its writing.

I want to find out...
•Whether a comic website, or my own website, would be a better way to upload my comic
•If the fact that it's made on paper and scanned instead of done digitally will repel potential readership.
For now, Issue 1 of my comic is in a Google Drive folder, which feels undignified.

I still go to Something Awful regularly. The forums are still up and the media discussions continue. The $10 cover keeps the servers running and the bigots and trolls out.

You could pull a Hungryclicker and draw art of the character used by whoever won the most relevant FG tournament at the time, or whoever was recently revealed, just to be in the times
