Ha! Some time ago I configured a custom DNS server: zero.dns0.eu. When I change it back to β€œautomatic”, it can reach your site.

My ping app on IOS says that it cannot resolve the host. Maybe a DNS issue?

On my laptop the site works. On my phone it does not; it just says: the server cannot be found. I tried both Safari and Brave Browser. Both with WiFi and cellular.

Deprecated but probably still supported indefinitely. Has been and will always be a quirky JS feature. Who uses octals anyways?

Just published LABuf, a Rust library to buffer fallible iterators. Kept copying the source between projects, so I thought it was time to make a library.

It is genuinely hard to write type safe infrastructure critical code in TypeScript without reinventing the whole language.

I didn’t like that fetch had no response length limit, so I had to write my own fetch wrapper, which not only took hours but also resulted in >400 LOC.

It is incredible how fast you move in Go. Great tooling, fast language, growing ecosystem.

I still prefer Rust for the solid, system side of projects because I find it fun to code in. And I think TS will not be leaving web dev until we have an AIO web dev solution.

But once we cannot rely on these tools to solve a hard problem we may encounter, we’re left in the dark. See client server synchronization for example.

Tldl there are always problems to solve when building stuff. But JavaScript, as much it may suck, lifted a lot of work off us.

Dealing with legacy JS sucks, especially with large React code bases. Modern tooling fixed a lot of annoying issues in the ecosystem, but effectively created new ones.

Full stack is hard to get right because most (simple) problems are already solved by our tools and we just gotta pick and connect.
