It's January 6! A day to remember. A day to oppose the violence of fascism. A day to oppose the violence of war.

Multiple remembrances today. And at least one anti-war protest.

Losing my mind seeing anyone try to argue that AI has sentience. It does not!!! Stop confusing it with fiction. The androids and robots in sci-fi have feelings because HUMANS wrote those stories. In reality our AI isn’t actually intelligent, it’s vastly inferior to what we’ve imagined.

How do you square your analysis with this WaPo-ABC poll?

Fact: All Americans are unified. We want something different than what we've been getting.
Result: Every election will be a change election until something changes for the better.

Most Alexandrians respect law enforcement, but not ICE.
ICE does not respect due process. ICE deserves no respect.
If Sheriff Casey continues to cooperate with ICE, when his hand is not forced by a judicial warrant, he risks losing the respect of his community.

Where: 3801 Mt Vernon Ave (TWU building), 22305

What: This will be a joint meeting of project leaders and team members working on Alexandrian Human Rights, Education, Environment, Housing Equity, and Transportation Equity. We will be updating each other on immediate concerns, such as participation in local protests, local school policies, housing policy, and human rights initiatives. At our meeting, we will check in with each other, hear from project leaders, and consider next steps. Everyone is encouraged to attend and ask questions. People who would like to participate in the GrA Reading Group can share a thought or two about the latest reading during check-in. We will be discussing chapters 13-16, of On Tyranny, by Timothy Snyder.

Grassroots Alexandria works in small groups focused on specific projects. We hold an action meeting on the 1st Thursday each month. New volunteers are always welcome (and needed) to join us and learn about our work. Info for new volunteers is posted here: https://grassrootsalexandria.org/what-can-we-do/
