For wilderness encounters, if characters are getting a long rest every night, random encounters lose their mechanical purpose.
Simpler games I want to play: Mothership, Shadowdark, Frostgrave etc
Equally or more complicated games: Kill Team, OSE/Dolmenwood, AD&D
I either want a simpler game, a different aesthetic and play experience, or nostalgia or historic interest. But not, βthe same end, but done differently.β
