That’s really opened things up! Maybe time to put big boy pants on and get those Rivington Moor tiles ticked off

Yeah, it’s having a valid explanation that doesn’t take ages to explain and make you look like a very strange human being… πŸ˜€ having done Geocaching that helps explain why you are loitering with intent

Yep, north of Wigan. And having taken up running it’s opened up a few new routes that I wouldn’t cycle (Great Hill etc) but VV kindly includes runs as well as rides πŸ™‚

It was, but access was questionable, no signs against but then nothing confirming a right of way. And it’s very visible to anyone who isn’t expecting too see a living soul out there at any time. So I turned around and came back, thinking 2 passes had to be good enough. πŸ˜•

I’m blocked by the Ribble Estuary north and west, Knowsley Safari Park in the south and Winter Hill to the east πŸ˜•

An empty Veloviewer map tile over the Ribble Estuary with a route path very close to the corner.

A close up of the missing Veloviewer map tile showing how close the route was, and that the path is just inside the missing tile!

Tiling challenges can be very frustrating! This is one on the Ribble Estuary. Not sure I should have even been there, not sure I really want to go back again! πŸ˜•

Innominate Tarn is a small tarn in the north of the Lake District National Park in England. It is situated at 520 metres above sea level, near the summit of Haystacks. The word Innominate means "without a name".

What's *your* body of water?

Innominate Tarn (as much for the name as the location and sheer beauty)

You could certainly say that about 50% of Top Secret, and the other 50% you know exactly where it’s going and are delighted when they do go there.

We did that a few years back. In the age of modern high-speed transport (ref. the two bridges nearby) it seems an incredible throwback to a long forgotten age to spend a tiny amount of money to have the official boatman row you across the canal.

A lot of these, like the Gazelle and Modus are very heavy, fine for inner city but poor if you want to add a little gravel. IMHO the Ribble Hybrid ALe is excellent for being a little more road and light trail than purely a city bike.

It’s sad that most coffee shops close in the evening. Pubs that serve coffee don’t hit the mark when you just want to sit somewhere relatively quiet with a hot non-alcoholic beverage and a slice of cake and read a book.

I hold up β€œO2 reps” for the same reason these days. Eventually phonetically give them my β€œemail address” like ….@iamascammer.com and ask them to read it back. The penny drops. But the last one then proceeded to tell me there were no other jobs than this. Almost broke my heart….almost.

The Rise and Fall of Steve Jobs’s Greatest Rival Adam Osborne was the master of momentumβ€”until it all came crashing down

Adam Osborne is a forgotten giant of computing. Steve Jobs first true rival and a friend. A man who struggled with his identity as British, American or Indian.

In my new column The Crazy Ones over at Every, here's the full history of the rise and fall of Osborne Computers. every.to/the-crazy-on...
