The membership numbers are hard to believe, but Darlington Green Party was excited about a record week for new members on Sunday and we had twice as many people join by lunchtime today!

A former head of Sustrans did some consulting for our local council. He said women would be scared of cycling along a cycleway beside a main A road and so the council should send them along the parallel deserted bridleway instead.

Thankfully the council was persuaded otherwise.

Watching/'attending' the @greenparty.org.uk Conference online and feeling a little bit of FOMO over not being there in person, but I think I'll be glad that I wasn't when starting work on Monday. #gpconf

How do we fix this mess?

The scenes on our streets are shameful consequences of decades of austerity - government after government fanning the flames of anti migration instead of tackling inequality.

We can & must make different choices. Solidarity to all communities under attack. We stand together.

My plan is to use the bus to get to places to ride it, rather than doing all my rides from home. I've commuted a couple of times on it, but my Dutch bike is my main commuter.

Trans people are anxiously waiting for the EHRC’s final guidance to be published, following its extreme and unworkable interim guidance. I know many are worried it will further the exclusion of trans people. I've written to govt to say that we MPs must be given time to debate it.
