This thread was really helpful. Thanks for sharing your experience. This is yet another reminder of why I love the TTRPG community so much. It has given me community in a way that is so personal and hard to find in the modern world, which I suppose is validation in and of itself.

As someone who is new in this space, I definitely struggle with searching for validation in TTRPGs. Obviously it's bad for my mental health, but any tips that helped you learn that lesson?

Great #PAXU this year. Still reeling from all the Thieves of the Tome games. From a player turning permanently into a dolphin in the first minute, to a davinci flying machine going over a kaiju, to the opposite of a tomato being ketchup for some reason. Truly a glimpse into my players' psyches.

To me something about time travel insinuates subterfuge and "operations". You don't want to mess up the timeline too bad, but you're obviously there for a reason. That's a covert op if I've ever heard one. Also I just read Absolution and weird fiction spies really tickle me right now.
