Okay so this is my lacy "shawl," and...well....

So i DO like it. This is supposed to be a very free-form, organic style, and i specifically chose colors to make it look like a botanical vascular cross-section under a microscope.

But... /1

Yeah, really wish i was kidding, but ive seen:

1) putting the thumb in the big hole and the fingers all squeezed into the small hole

2) holding it from below--like palm facing up instead of down

3) snipping painfully slowly with just the very tip

many times i see multiple in the same kid

Do you remember where you got that Lyrical yarn cause A) i love it and 2) my sister lives ib Spokane so id love to make something with it to maybe gift to her 😂

Okay wow, so blocking yall! I finished this basic triangle scarf last winter and my First Real Project, but it was more like a kerchief than a scarf. Since i had to block the lacy shawl I just finished, i figured id try blocking this too, and wow, I love this way better

im a high school teacher and i do a small macrame based activity in my classes sometimes and WOW, not to be like KiDz ThEsE DaYs, but the number of teenagers who struggle with fine motor skills is too damn high. Ive had 15 year olds who don't even hold SCISSORS correctly 🫠

There are some craft fairs that have started vetting their vendors to avoid slop, but that takes more overhead work so not all bother, but if customers complain that they won't even bother attending if its slop, maybe more will
