Insert perfect summary of my life (impressive, wildly varied, witty). Insert disclaimer that posts belong to me. Hats | fountain pens | metal | walkable cities Everything here in a private capacity.

09.08.2025 00:07 โ ๐ 9 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thank you for the reminder. I spent some good time with Endtime Signals today. I need to swim upstream from this album.
14.07.2025 04:24 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I hadn't heard of them either until a few months ago, when YouTube recommended one of the singles from their next album as something I might like. And I did like it.
Intense and propulsive. I've had Descent and the EP The Forgotten on high rotation since.
I've been listening to Orbit Culture a bit the past few weeks. The 2023 Forgotten album, and the singles from the new album out soon. Also Ne Obliviscaris, after seeing them live last month.
I paused over DT's latest on my Bandcamp list just the other day. Might have to play it today. ๐
Cool. My Prera and Metropolitans are always favourites among my workhorse pens.

I'd be interested to hear how you find the pen. I've circled around theseca few times (especially that red).
Quite frankly, I'm looking forward to meeting our ASKAP masters when they get here. Humans have set such a low bar on many fronts, there's at least a reasonable chance that they'd do better.
07.07.2025 12:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Not a story I tell very often, but my first contact with French poetry, which I now study for a living, happened through Black Sabbath. I had just turned 15, it was the year before the last at school. I skipped a few days and when I came back the literature teacher said I had missed an assignment...

That line is devastating, four simple words encapsulating - or suggesting - so much, in a novel filled with Bloom's thoughts about identity, time, memory, what he had aspired to be, what we see that day that he had become.
Happy Bloomsday.

Excellent thinking! I see no flaws in your argument.
15.05.2025 21:13 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0That's really good to hear. I heard the author being interviewed and it sounded really interesting, and read an extract from it online publication (without knowing where it was from until the end), so I've wanted to read the whole book since.

Thank you, that's interesting. I've been wondering about the 200s, since the 400s are on the pricier side of my budget by the time they make it to Australia. Still, it's tempting to make the stretch.

06.04.2025 12:52 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I don't have all my pens inked at the one time, but they all get a turn. They are certainly tools. Like my screwdriver set, some get used more than others, but they all get used.
06.04.2025 11:59 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Greetings from Australia! Pleased to see people still creating in this world.
It's late night here, so I'm listening to a Steve Reich soundscape and packing boxes to move house.
I have also been thinking seriously lately about buying my first Pelikan FP, so I was pleased to see your 400 in the hand.
Until the next unstable billionaire takeover, followed by the next migration...
05.04.2025 09:23 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I love Rhodia / Clairfontaine notebooks, although not everyone likes their smoothness. I've also got a couple of Midori notebooks waiting to try.
Paper is a very personal thing, like pens and inks. The fun part is working out what you like, which paper works best with particular pens / nibs, etc.
I love your dymo label (and your Kaweco, obvs). โ๏ธ

- walking

I've seen a few every now and then, but the last one was, yes.
(Never thought of Kaweco as NSFW, even though I love mine a lot.)
The fountain pen feed is, ah, interesting when a certain segment of the drawing community drops in.

I saw your post on the FP Australia group on Facebook. I'd love it if you could add me to the starter pack you've set up. (Fountain pen chat makes up most of my interactions here.)
Also thank you for creating the starter pack.
Someone here made a joke a while ago about turning up for an important event looking like you'd been fingerprinted by the cops.
