I'll be writing it up later but main takeaways from New Braunfels #nokings:
- people love the inflatables. Massive endorsement of an absurdist approach. Also people brought bubble machines.
- strong church showing. Sincere "no kings but Jesus" signs, Bible quotes
- Flags, red/white/blue everywhere

One additional thread that I didn't have space to expand on fully: Resistance 2.0 seems to be more focused on acts of community care, like helping neighbors targeted by ICE. That fits into the ongoing conversation about strengthening democracy by creating shared civic spaces...

Republicans can't find a single minute to work with Democrats to keep health care costs from skyrocketing–but don't worry, they had plenty of time this summer to shovel tax breaks to billionaires.

seeing otherwise smart people share the story that a south carolina judge’s beach house was burned to the ground because of a ruling against trump despite there being no evidence of that has been frustrating. just because the other side has abandoned facts doesn’t mean we can, too.

Zero-claim enrollees would be risk-pool-improving and premium-reducing.

Reasonable people can debate whether/to what extent the increase in zero-claim enrollees might reflect increased broker-driven fraudulent enrollment, but not whether that enrollment increases (individual) premiums.

It's striking that the primary Republican talking point against the Democratic proposal to restore Medicaid and ACA cuts is that it would give health care to undocumented immigrants, which isn't true. There isn't a broader defense of the cuts.
