In-person protests—with their noise, limited seating, and unmasked crowds—can be inaccessible to disabled people.

While some may grimace at using Zoom for social activities, for many chronically ill and disabled people, having the platform continue to be available is a relief.

Agreed. I'm a peer specialist, and they really stopped me while I was getting my training to say, "You're not an autistic person. You're a person with Autism diagnosis." And I was like... No. I don't understand why just asking a person how they prefer to be referred to isn't the standard.

Yeah you're probably right. And thank you. This is the second time this has happened to me though, but with a different friend group so I know the Commonality is me. I either need to work on myself or just stop putting in the amount of effort I put into other's needs and wants. Probably both.

Got to refer 3 autistic ppl today to the Texas Autism Society, ARC, and free mental health services. I don't want to make anyone uncomfy but if I'm getting a spidey sense that we are both autistic I feel the need to be like HELLO! 👋 this was just at the foodbank where I voluntee, I was so happy.
