Two-page image of a formal letter on U.S. House of Representatives letterhead, dated February 8, 2026, addressed to Chairman James Comer of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The letter states that Ghislaine Maxwell plans to invoke her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination at an upcoming House Oversight deposition and criticizes her intent to do so on a blanket basis rather than question by question. It notes her prior meeting with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche and requests clarity on whether she will invoke the Fifth Amendment in response to specific questions. Page one lists six detailed questions concerning alleged co-conspirators in Jeffrey Epsteinโs abuse of minors, the lack of indictments, Maxwellโs knowledge of prosecutorial decisions, any role involving President Donald Trump, discussions of a potential presidential pardon in exchange for silence, and any client lists or records maintained by Maxwell or Epstein. Page two adds a seventh question asking Maxwell to identify any foreign governments or intelligence services, including those linked to Russia or Israel, with which Epstein allegedly shared information or acted on behalf of. The letter asks that this document be entered into the official record at the start of the deposition and closes with a formal sign-off and signature from Congressman Ro Khanna, Member of Congress, U.S. House of Representatives.
NEW: Ghislaine Maxwell is set to invoke her Fifth Amendment rights and refuse to answer all questions related to Epstein, Trump, and more during tomorrowโs deposition. Rep. Ro Khanna has sent the following letter to Oversight Committee Chair James Comer in response:

These federal buildings have cells designed to hold a few people for a brief period; like a holding cell at a police station. Supposed to be 12 hours max, usually less.
People are being held in them for 7-10 days, jammed in like sardines. Itโs a nightmare.

07.02.2026 16:49 โ ๐ 6620 ๐ 1880 ๐ฌ 154 ๐ 116MINNEAPOLIS (AP) โ Alberto Castaรฑeda Mondragรณn says his memory was so jumbled after a beating by immigration officers that he initially could not remember he had a daughter and still struggles to recall treasured moments like the night he taught her to dance. But the violence he endured last month in Minnesota while being detained is seared into his battered brain. He remembers Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents pulling him from a friendโs car on Jan. 8 outside a St. Paul shopping center and throwing him to the ground, handcuffing him, then punching him and striking his head with a steel baton. He remembers being dragged into an SUV and taken to a detention facility, where he said he was beaten again. He also remembers the emergency room and the intense pain from eight skull fractures and five life-threatening brain hemorrhages.
ICE told nurses this Minneapolis man โpurposefully ran headfirst into a brick wall.โ
What actually happened is that they pulled him from a car, beat him so viciously with a steel baton that he had 8 skull fractures, 5 life-threatening brain hemorrhages, and couldnโt remember he had a daughter.

07.02.2026 15:26 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Ms. Wiles and her team are so like-minded in their devotion to the president that theyโve in many ways lost touch with the outside world. On what planet would a White House official say out loud, of prosecuting the presidentโs political enemies, that โwhen thereโs an opportunity, he will go for itโ? Or that Russell Vought, the director of the Office of Management and Budget, is a โright-wing absolute zealotโ? Or that Mr. Vanceโs 180-degree conversion to Trumpism was โsort of politicalโ? As I discovered, this is the way true believers talk in Mr. Trumpโs West Wing. I donโt think Ms. Wiles knew that her comments, outside the White House, would explode like bombs. They were confirmation of an old Washington maxim: The definition of a gaffe is when a powerful official accidentally tells the truth.
Chris Whipple said something in a NYT op-ed the other day that accords what I took away from his Vanity Fair profile of Susie Wiles. The reason she said so many batshit things to him is she doesn't understand that normies will recognize them as batshit.

Metry and her husband of 4 years go to DHS to get their I-130 in motion. "Good news" a DHS employee told them, the form to start her naturalization was approved.
DHS employee asks the husband to follow him through a secure door. When it locks behind him, ICE detains his wife to deport her.
Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi are already black holes for detention. Now obtaining release will be more difficult than ever. As more and more people are locked up, ICE will increase the pressure on those who are detained to give up.
The goal is an assembly line of coercion with no day in court.
AWFUL news tonight. This blesses the โmandatoryโ detention in the 5th Circuit without bond (and little chance at habeas) of every undocumented immigrant who originally entered across the border, no matter how many decades in the past.
It will fuel ICEโs push to transfer people to Texas immediately.
Can this be appealed?
