People are roasting this lede, but NYM is actually correct to print it. Toilet paper is so scarce in prisons that it is sometimes used as a currency.

It shouldn't be restricted, for any person, but the fact that it isn't for her (and her alone) is a sign of extremely special treatment.

Moral panic about rough sex gives way to censorship in the UK British regulators and lawmakers are hot on a measure that would make possessing or publishing strangulation porn a crime.

Hidden in the controversial about UK "choking ban" proposal are a host of even more egregious proposals that could:

* make camming illegal
* redefine escort ads as pimping
* render model contracts unenforceable
* criminalize discussions of teen sexuality

And a whole lot more ...

you will notice in a lot of these documentaries that it was easier for lesbians, fat women and older women to get out of NXIVM when they started to smell a rat. being invisible to men like Keith kept them out of the inner circle, which I’m sure stung at the time, but it freed them in the long run

11) The discussion about health care was useful PR, but covered up discussion over the power of the purse, which is fundamental. If the WH doesn't have to follow the law, it doesn't matter what you pass.

With the remaining approps bills + CR, Dems still could fight that fight. If they're smart

FIFA head says 'you will see' at World Cup draw if Trump receives new peace prize FIFA has announced the creation of a peace prize, which it plans to award for the first time at the World Cup draw on Dec. 5 in Washington.

Trump has threatened to bomb or invade 7 countries with a shot to play in the 2026 World Cup. He *has* bombed one (Iran) and said he'd deny them visas. He's preparing for war with another (Venezuela). He has summarily executed citizens from at least 3. He has imposed tariffs on nearly all of them.

Meanwhile the print media could hardly be expected to hold the
Tories to account, given their almost constant irrumating support for
Conservatives. Of Britain’s 15 main national newspapers, only one
backed the Labour Party. The rest vocally supported the Tories or
their Lib Dem partners in the coalition.
Thankfully, we could rely on the BBC to balance things out by
flexing its renowned leftie muscles. The corporation’s controller of
global news output, Craig Oliver, joined the Downing Street operation
as David Cameron’s director of communications. Andrew Neil,
editor of the right-wing Spectator magazine, fronted both of the
BBC’s two leading political discussion programmes, This Week and
Daily Politics. The editor of these programmes, Robbie Gibb, was
brother of Conservative MP Nick Gibb, and later became director of
communications at Theresa May’s Downing Street.
Sure, Nick Robinson, the BBC’s chief political correspondent,
had been national president of the Young Conservatives and then
president of the Oxford University Conservative Association, but

those sympathies were balanced out by his deputy, James Landale,
an old-Etonian close contemporary of David Cameron who was also

a report by the University of Cardiff found from 2007 to 2012 (both in

So if the tsunami of unmitigated failure that started in 2010 has
been a revelation to you, nobody should be especially surprised.

Once every 20 years or so, the director-general of the BBC is forced to resign for being insufficiently rightwing. Alastair Milne in 1987. Greg Dyke in 2004. Tim Davie in 2025. The great irony is that the BBC was in all cases profoundly biased towards established power. But just not biased enough …

Could the President impose a
50-percent tariff on gas-powered cars and auto
parts to deal with the unusual and
extraordinary threat from abroad of climate
change?
GENERAL SAUER: It's very likely that
that could be done, very likely.
JUSTICE GORSUCH: I think that has to
be the logic of your view.

Interesting that Sauer bit the bullet on the climate change tariff idea. No way not to, I guess. But it's a terrible terrible answer because it just shows his theory has no "metes and bounds" as he calls them. /12

There were 13 elections last night for a statewide office.

Democrats swept all 13.

That’s 1 in NJ. 3 in VA. 2 in GA. And 7 in PA (all judges, retention and regular).

They won 12 of the 13 races by double-digits, with margins up to 24%. The only other race, the tightest, they won by 6%.
