I'm back! In this experiment we had 39 participants choose between 8 different PhD programs which varied in terms of region, application materials, prestige, and fees. Importantly, two of the programs had a GRE requirement and two were equivalent but did not:

3 months EMA data (4 timer per day), in 4 cohorts of students in the Netherlands that started November 2021 and then half a year later each.
24 months of data, baseline + follow ups every 3 months, in 4 cohorts of students in the Netherlands that started November 2021 and then half a year later each.
Finished WARN-D data collection, all cohorts/waves. Cleaning & deidentifying data now so we can share w research community.
First look at compliance rates: left 3mo EMA data, right baseline + follow-ups. Super happy with this.
Thx to @rayyantutunji.bsky.social for quick graphs.
The psych job market may not be dead... but it is gravely injured π¬ So far it's looking like the Trump administration's attacks on higher ed/research are going to have more than 2x the impact on the job market as the covid-19 pandemic. #psychjobs #neurojobs #academicjobs

Trump admin planning to change student visas from lasting for duration of academic program to fixed 4-yr term, and then much harder to renew
Could destroy US ability to attract global talent, particularly those seeking advanced degrees in STEM. The median time to complete a PhD is 5.7 yrs per NSF.
