This is just a couple of the 'florets'. There must have been 30 or so of them on the entire patch!

I have, when I was driving truck for a living. Got pulled in for commercial inspection at the scale in Enterprise, NWT. The guy pulled off my fuel caps and shone a flashlight inside.

I'm not sure how they'd even be able to tell in a regular vehicle, as the collar is so narrow and has a flap.

I fucking have. I pulled b-train decks for over 15 years, and vans for another 10 before that. Somehow I managed to not hit any pedestrians, cyclists, motorists, or any other fucking thing in those 25 years of being a commercial driver.

Just shut the fuck up...

I don't even recall where I came across it, as it was some time ago that I watched it. I may have torrented it. I don't think I've seen it on any of the typical streaming outfits.

But yeah, worth seeing. Don't read the Wikipedia plot synopsis (if you haven't already). Better to go in cold.

It is a sci-fi/time travel film with absolutely no special effects. Everything is done in story. All the science fiction is delivered in the plot and dialogue, with incredible 'mind fuck' results. It's a reminder that good films just need good writing, and not huge budgets or SFX.

I'm not sure how obscure this is, but certainly no one I've talked to has seen or heard of it: the 2007 Spanish film 'Time Crimes' (Los cronocrΓmenes). I'm a big fan of time-travel films where the paradox is dealt with intelligently, and this one is it...

It's amazing how both the singles, and the Live-aid concert were so slap-dash, but it really came together. Pete Townsend talking about how The Who were bullied into it πŸ˜†

Anyway, thanks for the recommendation.

I watched the first two episodes. Great doco.

It's interesting, looking back to the time, I remember thinking both songs weren't that great because of my music-snobbery, but the documentary (and Bob) make a great point of how the song(s) were not important, and just thrown together in hours.

I did not. We just popped in for ~20 minutes whilst passing through to recon the pollinator garden for the bee walk next month. I did see a calliope in the milkweed haha

I'll look for the swifts when we return πŸ™‚

It's wren week!
Little ones are dropping fr the nests & checking out their neighbourhood.
Watching the first to drop to the ground, scurry to cover, then chirp and encourage the smaller/more feeble ones to 'come on down'. Some needed an hour of encouragement but eventually they all took off.

When you go camping in Canada, you're going to see (and hear) a loon 😁

I've seen two, at two different lakes in the last week.
