I’d rather she have taken the risk she did than be a part of voting down the budget just to be contrary like the opposition party. Now every single commitment will be held at face value and every move that does not align with green policy must be stood up against.

1. Proportional representation: a system made before anyone but wealthy white men could vote could probably use an update.
2. MPs: represent constituents not parties.
3. Question period: be remotely productive rather than trying to get the next hot clip.

And while I’m at it, why not make these “departmental cuts” AND tax the rich? Why is it the non-rich who need to buckle down and get ready for sacrifices but the rich get the break on their luxury yachts and unused homes?

Why is it always social programming that is the first to be cut? It’s not socialism that has brought us to this point because we do not live in a socialist society. This is the consequence of capitalism and continuing to use capitalist approaches to solve a capitalist problem is just dumb

I would like to see a historic investment in REDUCING our emissions and resource usage to achieve next zero rather than INCREASING resource extraction to meet our current usage. No amount of green energy will fix overconsumption

Being elected by your constituents based on the values you represent then crossing the isle because you “don’t agree with leadership” rather than “my constituents don’t agree with leadership” clearly shows the real disconnect in the foundations of our democracy

I worry about calling this a class war. Of course the working class is being taken advantage of by greed and capitalist policies, but let’s focus our disgust not on the rich themselves, but on the systems that provide them the privilege of taking advantage of others
