I finally got round to watching Kpop Demon Hunters. It's fun! Felt like a lot of content was cut, or maybe like it's meant to be a pilot for a series or something? I wouldn't mind if it was.

I think the only applicable instance was Bud Light doing a promo campaign with a trans comedian to try to save a brand that was about to drop from #1 light beer in USA to #2 and accidentally instead sparking outrage that made them drop to #3? Every other time it seems to only help sales.

He did always have this kind of... flippant egotistical quality, like a lot of writer boys with early career success, but it always felt at least a little like it could be bravado, or a persona... if he's actually just a fool, it's a letdown when he showed so much promise.

I really liked his previous videos. They were breezy and took a highly practical approach to writing, balanced with encouraging creators to have faith and courage in their own ideas, even against conventional industry wisdom.

I can't understate how disappointed I feel in Local right now. Either he's doing the most pompous "and yet you participate in society!" type edgeboy satirical "social experiment", OR he's legit imploded at his first taste of professional creative rejection, or it's both. Any way, it's just sad.

if you make a webcomic you will meet many kinds of commenters 1. THE ONE WHO TYPES IN ALL CAPS!!!!!!1! 2. Car/Gun/Plane guy who will critique your car/gun/plane 3. Carl, the cool boomer/gen-Xer who reads it with his kid/grandkid 4. "how long until the story is finished" or "I'll come back when there's more to read" 5. the ones who are always normal and good and polite and have nice conversations with each other 6. "actually I am a [rare profession] and [thing adjacent to my rare profession] doesn't work this way and you should have known that" 7. the one who only comments in gifs and memes but you understand them so it's okay 8. "I don't like how this character is developing so slowly on a comic that updates 1 page a week for 20 years" 9. the one who will always tell you exactly what you drew wrong or inconsistently between pages 10. the one who only ever leaves one comment but it's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to you

Yeah, it was a really good way to encourage the audience to think critically instead of just framing Superman's simplistic and naive intervention as "good". Great media literacy lesson for kids!

Yeah it was a really stand out scene for exploring the characters. Also, nice seeing Lois doing "plucky reporter!" stuff.

Finally saw Superman last night. It was so refreshing to see a movie where Superman actually acts like Superman! The interview scene is great because it allows for a movie where Superman is in character as the old fashioned hero, AND to have a meaningful debate about how effective that is.

NMM is really hard. I have a part finished NMM Stormcast test on my desk and it's so much work!

Starting the day by finishing up Ylthari's Guardians. I treated myself to one of the boxes of 4 Warhammer Underworlds warbands for use in Daggerheart and to paint something different! These will be great as Dryads and things.
